Back Me: Cubbit And Candy (Best Odds: $4.20) for me here. His three career runs have been very good, and he ran second to star youngster Senso, beaten 1.5L. Big drop in class here and should take some beating.
Big Danger: Dreamtime Dancer (Best Odds: $2.20) is a smart filly for Adam Durrant who closed off very strongly to finish second to hand galloper Sporting Image. She has a fair bit of upside and strikes a winnable race here.
Roughie: Black Galaxy (Best Odds: $21.00) ran over 1700m last time out on this track and finished off alright to run fourth despite wanting to lay in. Harder here, but back to the mile suits and being his third career start here, he should be at his best or very close.

Race Two (12:55pm) : Westspeed Plate 1000m: Form Guide
Back Me: London Line (Best Odds: $2.25) resumed a couple of weeks back and worked home very strongly from near last to run second to the well above average Hot Goods. He gets the weight pull on Hot Goods and looks to have more upside. Should win.
Big Danger: Hot Goods (Best Odds: $1.95) has created a big impression at her opening two career outings with a spell in between. She showed great speed to lead first up and held on well to beat London Line. At the weights, I am not sure she can beat London Line, but she should lead and give London Line something serious to chase.
Roughie: It’s Dynamite (Best Odds: $12.00) certainly shouldn’t be ruled out. He was given an absolute peach ride from Pike to score a most impressive win here last time out. Harder here, but he is right in this race up to his ears.

Race Three (1:30pm) : Telstra Perth Racing Festival October15-20 Handicap (60+) 1000m: Form Guide
Back Me: Agachar Cruz (Best Odds: $5.00) ran over this track/distance a couple of weeks back and worked home strongly late but couldn’t quite go on with it when second to Bourne Supremacy, beaten 0.75L. Drawn to get the gun run here and looks the one to beat.
Big Danger: Bourne Supremacy (Best Odds: $3.00) was huge in winning that race given he was four wide no cover for the entire trip yet still hit the line very powerfully to get the job done. Draws much better here and should prove very tough to hold out.
Roughie: Hostwin Pegasus (Best Odds: $6.50) is a very interesting runner here. Formerly with Team Hawkes, then Gary Moore, but is now in Perth under the care of Lindsey Smith. Recent Lark Hill trial was sharp and he was strong when he resumed when trained in Sydney.

Race Four (2:10pm) : Westspeed Stayers’ Bonus Handicap (66+) 2200m: Form Guide
Back Me: Ultimate Success (Best Odds: $13.00) has been hot and cold this time in. He has run well without winning but he was a touch disappointing last start here when seventh to Drive West, but trainer Adam Durrant told stewards that the horse may not have handled the seven day back up, so he has had four weeks off since last start and back on a firmer surface should see him be right in the finish.
Big Danger: Zarantz (Best Odds: $4.00) got a long way back in the run last time out over 2100m here and worked home strongly late to run second to Demuro, who pinched it and had too big of a break on Zarantz. This doesn’t look much stronger and is a definite leading contender.
Roughie: Tunisia (Best Odds: $41.00) is a maiden galloper who has only had three career outings and while on face value he hasn’t done much, I thought there was merit in his effort last time out when fifth at Pinjarra over 2000m given he raced three wide no cover on speed for the entire trip. Rises in grade big time, but this race doesn’t carry much depth.

Race Five (2:45pm) : Perth Racing Country & Interstate Membership Handicap (66+) 1000m: Form Guide
Back Me: Putting Woolibar (Best Odds: $5.50) on top. He ran well here a couple of weeks back where he pulled up with the thumps after running third to Petrol Power, where he just pulled his head off outside the leader. With better racing manners, and no more thumps, he should take some beating.
Big Danger: Madassa (Best Odds: $2.50) resumes here after a two month spell, where he put together two wins in very impressive fashion, both over this track/distance. He is a noted speedster and probably should lead here. Last 50m will be the test, but he has the in form rider aboard and loves Belmont.
Roughie: Travellin’ (Best Odds: $4.00) has won his past two starts over this track/distance, and on both occasions he has been quite dominant, most notably last start when sitting 1/1 throughout and doing his thing over the final furlong. He can handle the rise in grade.

Race Six (3:25pm) : Tabtouch The Home Of Racing & Sport Handicap (72+) 1400m: Form Guide
Back Me: Stepping up to 1400m should suit World Trader (Best Odds: $14.00), who has raced over 1300m at his past two starts, and his last start effort caught my eye. He was left flat footed at the top of the straight and looked as though he was going to run last but he picked up late and was strong through the line. Tumbles down to 54kg here, and though drawn wide, he looks a great winning chance.
Big Danger: Halo Express (Best Odds: $4.60) resumed over 1300m here last Wednesday and finished off his race alright in the end when finishing third to Vanrippa, beaten just over a length. He should take good improvement from that outing and looks a horse who could be a knockout chance at odds.
Roughie: War Prince (Best Odds: $6.00) ran well here last time out when sitting near the inside and poking his way through to finish second to the above average and in form galloper, Resonates. Gets in well at the weights after the claim for Aaron Mitchell and should be in the finish.

Race Seven (4:05pm) : Wayne’s Amazing Race Handicap (60+) 1400m: Form Guide
Back Me: Eurosun (Best Odds: $12.00) ran over this track/distance two weeks ago and worked home very strongly to run second to Rattlehead, beaten 0.3L. He is absolutely bursting to win a race but just seems to bump into one or two better than him. But I’ll hope he can greet the judge.
Big Danger: Phantom Choice (Best Odds: $13.00) is a very consistent type who put together three very impressive wins before racing here a fortnight back and was given every chance by Natasha Faithfull but had to settle for third to Rattlehead. Draws well again and should be around the mark somewhere.
Roughie: Dropping to 1400m should suit the Grant Williams trained Coming Back (Best Odds: $12.00), who raced over 1650m last time out and he just didn’t run the trip out. Back in trip is ideal, senior rider back aboard and the blinkers are back on.

Back Me: Zuccheros (Best Odds: $3.60) looks the clear way to go here. He has the fitness edge and ripping recent winning form, winning his past two. He should get a charmed run just behind the tempo, and with the fitness edge, I’ll go with Zuccheros.
Big Danger: Wild Stratus (Best Odds: $5.00) resumed over this track/distance a couple of weeks back and looked a shade unlucky when running sixth to Petrol Power, beaten just over a length. He can take good improvement from that and with the speed on, he should be charging late.
Roughie: Petrol Power (Best Odds: $8.00) produced a powerful finishing burst after sitting wide for the second half of the trip to get the job done in the last couple of strides. He hadn’t won for a while prior to that, so now that he has got the winning feeling, he can go right on with it.

Race Nine (5:20pm) : Book An Exhibition At Perth Racing Handicap (66+) 1600m: Form Guide
Back Me: The Director (Best Odds: $12.00) remains at the mile after two runs over the Pinjarra mile, including a win and a closing third last time out. Little query on running the trip out against this level, but this is a very thin race class wise and the trainer is in white hot form.
Big Danger: Mr Mankini (Best Odds: $14.00) ran over this track/distance a month back and did a power of work, sitting three deep no cover on the speed throughout yet still kicked on but was grabbed late and had to settle for third, beaten around a neck. The freshen up should suit him and tumbles in weight after the claim for Randy Tan.
Roughie: The drop in class and distance could suit the veteran Verdello Blue (Best Odds: $51.00), who struggled to run the 2000m here last start when a battling seventh. He loves give in the ground, and we know with him is that he will be strong at the end compared to most of these.
