Brisbane racing this Saturday returns to Eagle Farm for a strong eight race card. weather is fine, the track is heavy (8) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

Race One (12:17) : Pure Jali Organics Handicap 1400m:
Back Me: 4 Social Vampire (Bet Now: $4.45) on top in a race where I’d rather stay clear of. Dominant maiden winner two back at the Sunny Coast before racing over the mile here a fortnight back where she chased hard all the way but had to settle for a close up second to Cushion Pink. Back 200m in trip is ideal I think and she can definitely spear over and lead.
Big Danger: 7 Quick And Easy (Bet Now: $19.00) ran in a Rockhampton maiden last time out and though he didn’t beat much, he absolutely bolted up and ran time, which was the good sign. Bred to handle a wet track, and this isn’t a strong race at all.
Big Danger: 1 Hearts Honour (Bet Now: $7.00) resumed at the Sunny Coast last Wednesday where he had the charmed run behind the tempo and stuck to the task very gamely when a close up fourth to Rhyming. Steps straight up to Saturday company, but has clear upside and the extra 100m is a big tick.
Race Two (12:52) : UMS School Wear Handicap (75) 2200m:
Back Me: 5 Annaman (Bet Now: $6.00) ran over this track/distance two weeks back and chased hard the entire straight when running third to Anton En Avant, beaten four lengths but was far from disgraced. Getting close to D-Day for him now, and I think this is his race now. Last chance for me I think if he gets rolled here.
Big Danger: 3 San Telmo (Bet Now: $3.30) has been in really good form since being under the care of Bradley Smith and he’ll appreciate the rise in trip after running a game second to Bound For Love over the mile here a fortnight back. This is more his ideal trip and he has upside. Major contender.
Roughie: 13 Military Lady (Bet Now: $31.00) ran over the Doomben 2000m at the midweeks on August 10 and made up a stack of ground late to run fifth to Sentimental Prince, beaten four lengths in a solid effort. Rises a bit in depth, but remains down in the weights and the bigger track should be ideal.
Race Three (13:27) : Madison Cleaning Handicap (75) 1400m:
Back Me: 1 Umgeni (Bet Now: $8.00) on top for me in a really hard race. He ran over this track/distance a fortnight back and closed off nicely from the back to run third to War Baby, who was somewhat of a surprise winner but did have strong market support at odds. Seems to be racing very well this time in and the claim certainly helps.
Big Danger: 3 Le Chef (Bet Now: $6.50) is the 2015 Magic Millions winner who has done bugger all since that win, but he did show a bit of fight I thought last Wednesday at the Sunny Coast over the mile when running a close up third to Yoho. Luke Tarrant rides the horse very well and that hard 1600m effort should see him cherry ripe for this.
Roughie: 8 Igneous (Bet Now: $9.00) ran over this track/distance three weeks back when chasing hard to run fourth to Total Authority on a day where it was near impossible to make up ground. Hopefully he can sit closer from the gate, and if that eventuates, he’ll take beating.
Race Four (14:07) : St Margarets College Handicap (75) 1400m:
Back Me: 6 Bushy (Bet Now: $17.00) for me at an each way price. He hasn’t raced for 27 days since finishing midfield behind Moon And The Stars at the Sunny Coast after sitting on speed. He looks as though he’ll get a cheap run just off the speed and gets the services of Jimmy Orman. Hard to trust, but I am prepared to have something each way on him.
Big Danger: 4 Monster Of Energy (Bet Now: $3.10) is a consistent galloper who hasn’t raced better. He ran over this track/distance two weeks ago and was very good in defeat behind War Baby given he was wide no cover throughout and he is the sort of horse who can sometimes turn it up if that eventuates, but he kept on. Give him better luck here and he’ll go close.
Roughie: 8 Magnus Cor (Bet Now: $3.30) was slightly disappointing two back before getting his confidence back up with a dominant win at the Sunny Coast a tick under two weeks back. He will love the spacious surroundings of Eagle Farm and if the speed is on, he will be charging late.
Race Five (14:43) : St Margarets P&F Association Plate (Class 3) 1000m:
Back Me: 7 The Virginian… (Bet Now: $1.45) you’d almost be happy to take $1.01. His first prep saw him win twice, run sixth in a Gold Coast Guineas and then ending the prep with a third to Under The Louvre and Black Heart Bart in the Stradbroke, and both of those horses ran crackers last weekend. Trial win was sharp, so well weighted…how does he get beat?
Big Danger: 10 Shamfrancisco (Bet Now: $6.50) started short odds when resuming at the midweeks at Doomben a fortnight back and she let the punters down somewhat with a second to Zero Tolerance after starting a near odds on pop. She’s been a money muncher at her past three, but her record overall is fantastic.
Roughie: 6 So Miraggio (Bet Now: $8.50) rises in grade, but there is a bit of quality about him. He has won two from two to kick off his career, both occasions over 1000m at the Sunny Coast and on both occasions he has looked very impressive. Massive test here against a Group l performer but he is in the right stable and has upside.
Race Six (15:22) : St Margarets Anglican Girls School Handicap 1200m:
Back Me: 2 Dream Choice (Bet Now: $3.10) is in ripping form at the moment for Rob Heathcoate. He ran over this track/distance a fortnight back and was strong in winning, sitting just off the pace before peeling and finishing best. Similar field here, so I think he can repeat the dose.
Big Danger: 7 Kudero (Bet Now: $6.50) resumed over this track/distance a fortnight back in an open handicap and closed off okay late to run within 3.6L of Dream Choice. He is a winner second up and we know the tempo will be strong. Upset chance if the breaks go his way.
Roughie: 9 Ellawisdom (Bet Now: $21.00) gets weight relief here and it’s needed after she really struggled to pick up late last start at the Sunny Coast behind Moon And The Stars. Has raced well here previously and she will be strong late if the speed is on.
Race Seven (16:02) : Programmed Property Services Handicap 1600m:
Back Me: Hard to go against 8 Mr Epic (Bet Now: $2.50) here. He has been a real form galloper for Toby Edmonds during the Winter, which continued here three weeks back with an all the way win over the same distance. Helped by the bias that afternoon but he was dominant. He’ll be on speed once again, and this time he is right down in the weights. Hard to beat.
Big Danger: 10 Desert General (Bet Now: $5.00) was four weeks between runs when racing here three weeks ago when closing off okay late in the piece behind all the way winner Mr Epic, who took full advantage of the on speed bias. Has a pretty solid record on the track and find a very winnable race.
Roughie: Gettng close to D-Day for 7 Alpha Beat. (Bet Now: $8.50). He ran over 1400m here last time out and did make up really nice ground late behind Beckham. Up to the mile is a tick, he is getting close to peak fitness and he’ll love a track with give in it.
Race Eight (16:42) : Barambah Organics Handicap (0MW) 1200m:
Back Me: 2 Irish Constabulary (Bet Now: $3.80) ran over 1000m here a fortnight back and chased hard all the way when second to the above average mare Hidden Pearl. The step up to 1200m should suit, he’s hard fit and is in ripping form.
Big Danger: 4 Ziggy Willie (Bet Now: $6.50) ran over this track/distance three weeks back and chased hard throughout behind My Cousin Bobby in a close finish. Hasn’t won for some time, but he brings really solid Sydney form and drawn out looks his go.
Roughie: 11 Mr Jetset (Bet Now: $11.00) resumed over 1000m here three weeks ago and closed off well late when running a close up fourth to stablemate Hi I’m Back. That was a super return and he looks a major threat here if he gets speed on and a clear crack.
