7 Ahrea (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one of the leading hopes. Ryan Hill trained mare that resumed over 1400m at Bunbury where she got back to near last in the run and while she was never really a winning threat, she closed off with purpose in a good return. Fitter, can settle closer, hard to beat.

3 Iffublush (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has had a host of chances to break the maiden status but this isn’t a deep maiden I feel. She ran over this track/distance last time when just off the speed and took time to wind into her work but loved the way she closed off when second. Knocking on the door and i think she gets a great chance here.

8 Polyvanova (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has less convictions than most so with that in mind, commands respect. She was 1100m to 1400m when racing at Belmont last start when on speed and just felt the pinch late in the piece behind Snippy Sean. Has that 1400m run under the belt, will be near the front and takes running down.

5 Kolchino (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a great each way gamble I say. He ran over 2200m at Northam last time out where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he kept finding the line and was pretty good in defeat. Back in trip I like and if he can settle closer in the run, he will take holding out.

2 Decoration (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing in consistent form for Team Pearce and commands respect. He has finished runner up his past two, both at Belmont, the latest over the mile when on speed and was there to win but couldn’t quite finish the job when a close up second to Missile Storm. Maps ideally and the trip, I think, is okay.

1 Uncompromised (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has a good record at Kalgoorlie and should appreciate a rise to 1760m after racing over the mile at Belmont last time when off speed and while he was never a threat, he made up solid headway in a good effort. Up in trip, he commands respect.

4 Secret Attraction (Bet Now:  $SP.00), I think, picks herself. Peter Fernie has this mare absolutely humming at the moment, winning two on the bounce, firstly at this trip before going to 1760m where she made an absolute mess of them. More depth here, but it’s hard to get away from her and how well she’s racing at the moment.

2 Exceltrain (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will put himself on speed and look to give his all. Attempted to lead throughout two weeks ago over 1400m at Belmont where he gave a very strong kick from the front but just couldn’t quite see it through, run down late by Desert Nymph. Up to the mile, he’ll give a good sight if he gets some form of control.

5 Mountain Ash (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is dangerous with his best. Ran over this trip two weeks back at Belmont when on speed and tried hard but just felt the pinch late in the piece behind In Good Order, who is flying at present. I wouldn’t be totally dismissing him.

5 Full Of Merit (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have returned in good order for Dion Luciani and should take beating. She resumed over 1300m at Northam when on speed throughout and tried her guts out but couldn’t quite see it through when second to Ima Wild Girl. Fitter, up in trip, good racing style, she’s the one for me.

4 Secret Identity (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness. He did more than enough fresh at Belmont over 1200m behind Bondi Plunge before going to 1400m there three weeks ago and kept finding the line in a good effort behind He’s Gold. If he can settle closer, he takes beating I say.

1 Reign Of Fire (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will welcome the drop in grade/depth after racing here last time in a lead up to the Hannans where he was held but far from disgraced in defeat behind Colossal. Back to this level, he should prove hard to beat if he runs up to recent efforts.

3 Influencing (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the way I am leaning but not a whole lot of confidence in an open contest. He ran over 1200m at Belmont two weeks ago when just off the speed before being presented clear air and loomed to win but couldn’t quite get there when second to Eliteone. 1400m is fine and this doesn’t appear to be an overly deep contest.

5 Colossal (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for Team Williams. He was just going in town but since coming to Kalgoorlie, he has found a new lease of life with a couple of impressive wins on the bounce, both over 1300m here, and wouldn’t have looked out of place in the Hannans, so he looks hard to beat against these.

4 Abloh (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a talented gelding and rates highly. Peter Fernie trained gelding that was a month between runs when racing over 1400m here, giving them a start and a beating, letting down with real purpose late to win and win well. Confidence is up, he can go on with it.

6 Eevalina (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks ready to win. Peter Fernie trained mare that ran over 1100m just under two weeks ago when back and held up at times before angling for clear air and worked to the line strongly late in the piece when third to Secret Style. Up in trip I like, maps to settle closer and gets Chris Parnham.

3 Laquetta’s Gift (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has had a few runs for Peter Fernie and is nearing a win. Could have gone down the Hannans path potentially but she didn’t quite measure up in the lead up behind Colossal but that said, she was far from disgraced in defeat, beaten under a length. That form clearly reads well for a race like this.

8 Zackariah Beau (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is eleven years of age and is resuming. He is first up, having not raced since June 12 at Bunbury when far from disgraced in defeat over 2200m. Better suited over further but can sprint well fresh and he’ll be strong late if he goes silly in front.

2 Zaza Rock (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found winning form and she can certainly go on with it. Admittedly the win wasn’t in a deep race, the Toodyay Cup, but she made a mess of them and was quite impressive. She had been working up to a win prior, she will appreciate 1200m and gets Pike on.

10 Lautre (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door, albeit in easier races than this. He ran in the Mt Magnet Cup last time when just off the speed and tried hard but had to settle for a second to Kentucky Blue. Racing well, he’ll be strong late and overall, this isn’t a deep contest.

11 Olden (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise in trip. He was several weeks between runs and back in trip when racing over 1760m here last time. He did have a good run in transit but lacked change up speed to go with them late in the piece. Better set up here, I am not dismissing him.

Looks a race in two but I think 5 Iowa (Bet Now: $3.60) can turn the tables. On face value, he had his chance in the Boulder Cup, but I will say he was held up in traffic at various stages whereas Starry Heights had clear air, momentum and was much too good. Iowa is a stayer and I think if he can get rolling early, make this a proper staying contest, he will take beating.

2 Starry Heights (Bet Now: $1.55) won the Boulder Cup and you can’t ignore how dominant he was. He got the beaut run and drag into the race under Pike before peeling wider and made a mess of them in an impressive display. Not going to get it as easy this time around and a testing 2300m is a query. He can win, clearly, but he may get too short.

3 Another Chino (Bet Now: $9.50) looks ready to peak for Dan Morton. He too comes through the Boulder Cup where he got back off the speed and while he was never threatening, he did make up headway and was solid enough in defeat I thought. Not sure he wins, but he can run top four for sure.

10 Prospector’s Pick (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have returned in pretty good order and will take beating for Simon Miller. He resumed over 1200m at Belmont where he led throughout and credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he found under pressure to fend them off and win. Back to 1100m I like, good racing style, takes beating I say.

3 Sunny Honey (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door. David Harrison trained gelding that ran over 1200m at Belmont last Saturday when just off the speed and tried hard but had to settle for a third to the very talented Rope Them In. Back in trip should be fine, strong late and is a definite winning threat.

5 Crippalenko (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Maschino that resumes. He hasn’t raced since June 15 at Belmont when winning over 1000m, getting the suck run in transit and finished best to win. Resuming at 1100m, which I find interesting, but with a kind map, he’s in the mix.

NEXT BEST: Race Seven Number 2 Zaza Rock

LONG SHOT: Race Two Number 5 Kolchino
