Eagle Farm is where Brisbane metro racing takes place this Saturday. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is out 3.5 metres for the entire circuit.

Race 1. (13:43) Tab Venue Mode Hcp 1200m
3 Eureka’s Victory (Bet Now: $5.50) on top but not really a race I want to get involved in. Son of Epaulette that is on debut for Rob Heathcoate and has trialled up quite nicely on a number of occasions to get ready for start one, enough to suggest he will be hard to beat on debut, especially in a thin race like this.
5 Mishani Delight (Bet Now: $3.00) is a Les Ross trained filly who was kept pretty safe in betting when resuming over 800m at Ipswich, and yes, for the most part, they are barrier trials for prizemoney pretty much, but she got the win and was strongest on the line. Little query at 1200m, but in a good stable for juveniles at this level.
7 Hats (Bet Now: $16.00) is on the seven day back up for John Wallace after racing last Saturday at the Gold Coast. He got back in the run and was never really a winning threat, but wasn’t too bad in defeat behind a handy one in Glorious Ruby. Draws gate one so hopefully can sit closer in the run.
Race 2. (14:18) Hellbent At Inglis (bm78) 2212m
2 Devine Grey (Bet Now: $4.60) is a Matty Dunn trained mare that is flying at the moment and she deserves a crack in town. Not sure Ipswich was to her liking last time out but once she balanced up, she really put the race to bed and won quite impressively. This isn’t a strong race, so confident she can measure up.
3 Miss Penfold (Bet Now: $2.50) is racing as if the 2200m will suit. Kelly Schweida trained mare that got a much needed win and confidence boost when getting the job done over 1800m, sitting off the speed and finishing best in a driving go. Now she has a win on the board, she could well go on with it.
5 Steel Pier (Bet Now: $10.00) is suited up in trip again. Good in defeat two back at this trip before coming back to 1800m here and working home okay without threatening behind Miss Penfold. He does look a stayer so 2000m+ is his go, which is what he gets to again here, so an improved showing is on the cards.
Race 3. (14:53) Sky Racing (bm78) 1600m
See no reason to jump off 5 Gunnobe (Bet Now: $3.20). Was on her back at decent odds when she raced at Doomben two weeks ago and under a lovely ride from an in form Andrew Mallyon, she was far too good for them and impressive on the line. Has come back in super order and can win again.
Stuart Kendrick has 1 Foreign Territory (Bet Now: $2.60) flying at the moment, albeit the last two starts/wins have come on his home track at the Sunny Coast where he has had a cushy run in transit but still been able to take advantage of it. His confidence is high and definitely deserves a crack in town.
7 Mosshiki (Bet Now: $4.80) is bursting to win a race for Rob Heathcoate. He ran over this track/distance last time out and worked home strongly from off the speed when second to impressive winner The Dark. His winning strike rate is pretty plain, but he is racing super and is deserving of a win.
Race 4. (15:28) Xxxx Dry Hcp 1815m
1 Ligulate (Bet Now: $1.85) was good to me when winning two weeks ago and see no reason to drop off him here. Cody Morgan has done a fab job with this guy this time in, with the key to him finding firm tracks, and Eagle Farm will certainly be that. Strong win from off the pace two weeks ago at Doomben over the mile and off that effort, 1800m here should be fine.
2 Matowi (Bet Now: $2.30) finds a very winnable race based on his Sydney form. Chris Waller trained gelding that ran over the mile at Randwick two weeks back and closed off strongly late when a close up fifth to Soldier Of Love. Tends to save his best for the mile but his 1800m record is more than sound. Hard to beat.
3 Spectroscope (Bet Now: $8.50) is third pick, but a very much distant third pick. He attempted to lead most of the way in the Ligulate race from two weeks back. Just did a bit too much work early to find the front but stayed on and was sound in defeat in running third. Not sure he wins, but will give a sight from near the front.
Race 5. (16:07) Cascade (bm72) 1200m
5 Wolff Boss (Bet Now: $2.90) finds a thin Saturday race and given the form he is in, he can get away with this. Belted them two back at Dalby before repeating the dose at Warwick, winning by a bigger margin in impressive fashion. If he can get luck from the wide gate, he looks the one to beat quite comfortably.
6 Bold Hunter (Bet Now: $7.00) has his share of talent for Garnett Taylor and can bounce back here. I’d be forgiving of his last start effort when beate as an odds on pop at Rockhampton. He had to carry 61kg and the eventual winner had a 6.5kg weight pull. Form out of that race has been strong and can take this out.
9 Go Deep (Bet Now: $12.00) returns to Eagle Farm for the first time this prep and two of his three career wins have come at the track so think he can be a big improver, especially if they ride to his strengths, which is jump and run along in front. If that eventuates, he’ll give a great sight at odds.
Race 6. (16:47) Best Bred Booms Sell 2021 Hcp 1200m
5 You Make Me Smile (Bet Now: $6.50) has had a couple of runs for the O’Dea/Hoysted camp and is nearing a win. Looked like it would come a fortnight back at Doomben but was overrun near the line by Socialising. Three of his six career wins have come second up, so expect decent improvement.
The best version of 1 Baller (Bet Now: $5.50) is more than capable of figuring in the finish, but he has been somewhat disappointing this time in. But, he does drop a mile in depth after contesting the Magic Millions Cup when making up ground late behind Eleven Eleven. This is a very winnable race if he finds his best.
Some horses seem to struggle letting down at Eagle Farm but one horse who loves racing here is 2 Valario (Bet Now: $13.00), who is around three weeks between runs since racing at the Sunny Coast over 1000m when wide no cover and sticking on well behind Unguarded. Fitter and up to 1200m, on a track he loves, hard to beat.
Race 7. (17:27) Brc Girl's Day Out 20/3 (bm72) 1200m
Looks pretty straight forward here with quality mare 4 Ingear (Bet Now: $1.35). Second up for Tony Gollan after giving them a galloping lesson first up over 1000m here, leading throughout and winning pretty much like it was a barrier trial. Can only see her improving with the run under her belt and up to 1200m. Hard to beat.
1 Trail Of Glory (Bet Now: $9.50) is flying for Lindsay Hatch and deserves a crack in town. Ran on her home track at Toowoomba last Saturday where she looked a good thing on paper and duly saluted in impressive fashion. Has done the back up once before but that was as a younger horse and she was tailed off last with excuses, so doubt she beats Ingear but runs well.
12 Portuguese Tart (Bet Now: $16.00) is flying at the moment. Savaged the line late to win two back at Murwillumbah before going to Randwick for a Highway where she got back to near last in the run before peeling widest and charging at the end to just miss out on picking up Pinnacle Prince. That reads well for this.
Race 8. (18:07) Mount Franklin Hcp 1400m
Now 1 Batangas Entry (Bet Now: $7.00) has a win on the board, he can go on with it now. Contested strong Magic Millions lead up races and was far from disgraced. Dropped back to this level two weeks ago at Doomben, looking a good thing on paper, and he duly saluted. Jimmy Orman gets on well with him, should get three wide cover and finish over the top.
5 Bellissimi Amici (Bet Now: $5.50), now she has that winning feeling under the belt, she can go on with it now. Was a little while between wins for her, but she bounced back to her best when giving them a spanking over 1400m at Eagle Farm last time out, sitting off what was a genuine speed before peeling wider and she went through her gears and raced away. If she runs up to that here, she wins.
8 He Knows (Bet Now: $9.00) should be suited up to 1400m for the O’Dea/Hoysted camp. Comes through the Batangas Entry race from two weeks ago at Doomben and I thought he was good in defeat. Got a split and drove hard in the straight but had no answers for the class of that runner. Better suited here and is hard to beat I feel.
Race 9. (18:47) Racecourse Village Hcp (c6) 1400m
4 Fisticuffs (Bet Now: $2.60) is four weeks between runs for the Edmonds camp since producing a brilliant finale from the back to win impressively at the Gold Coast. He seems to be racing much more consistently this time around and his finale speed might well be too much for this lot. Happy to be in his corner.
3 Stuttering (Bet Now: $4.00) finds a very winnable race here. Three weeks between runs since racing in the Magic Millions QTIS when chasing strongly and nearly got there in a close photo finish, beaten a lip by The Odyssey. Up to 1400m and onto a bigger track looks a really good set up.
2 Mr So And So (Bet Now: $15.00) is a very interesting runner. Had a stint in Hong Kong when Anthony Freedman trained him there. Now back in Australia under the care of Chris Anderson and had his first run for the stable behind Garibaldi two weeks back. He was never a winning threat, but his finale was eye catching, enough to suggest he is one to watch closely next time.
