9/1/2021 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Ascot, Easingwold Stakes day

An eight race meeting will be run and won this Saturday at Ascot. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is out two metres for the entire circuit.

Hopefully the rub of the green goes the way of 7 Kirigami (Bet Now: $11.00). She ran here two weeks ago in a maiden where she was wide no cover for the trip and just couldn’t finish it off, so be forgiving of that. Draws much better this time around and can run a much improved race.

1 Keep It Hush (Bet Now: $4.40) has had a few chances to break the maiden tag but he is racing quite honestly and should be around the mark again. Sat on speed here a fortnight ago and gave a reasonable kick when asked to go. Fought on well but no match for them late. Finds a very winnable maiden.

2 Rosso Tempesta (Bet Now: $9.00) is a big query here. Todd Harvey trained gelding that had trialled up well prior to his resumption where he was wide, but had cover. He just gave in far too quickly and was very ordinary. Off the trials, a maiden win is near, so giving him another chance.

Looks a race in two but leaning the way of 5 Sniparoochy (Bet Now: $1.85). Stephen Miller trained filly that debuted over 1100m at Bunbury and just had to be impressed by her sustained speed from the front, and the time she ran was quite good relative to the day. Maps super and will take some beating.

1 Heavenly Waters (Bet Now: $2.20) has been given a mini freshen up by Roy Rogers since debuting with a pretty impressive win in the Crystal Slipper when sitting outside the speed before taking the front and drawing clear. Pike takes over and should find the fence first. Hard to beat with the runs on the board.

7 Hoi An (Bet Now: $27.00) is a Longma filly for Roy Rogers that is on debut. This girl has had two trials to get ready for start one and has looked pretty good each time she has stepped out. Whether she has got the talent to win this I’m not sure, but have to respect the stable when they come to town.

If 2 Chilli Is Hot (Bet Now: $6.00) can sit closer in the run, I think she will take a power of beating. This filly has had two runs back from a spell, resuming and being luckless over 1200m before stepping up to 1400m where she got back and worked home well late. Like her up to the mile. Just hope she can settle closer in the run.

6 Tambora (Bet Now: $1.95) is the query runner. He debuted in a 1500m maiden here where he pretty much took on camels hence the short price on offer, and he duly saluted. His overall time was ordinary, so I have doubts on that form, but he is in the right stable and has more upside than most.

4 Olden (Bet Now: $31.00) will sit on speed and give a sight. Was near the front when racing over the mile at Pinjarra last time out and tried hard. Just couldn’t quite finish it off and felt the pinch late. Not sure he’s a horse I could back to win this, but with a cheap run on speed, could pinch a first four spot.

Interesting to see if 13 Wilchino (Bet Now: $2.30) can make it 2/2 this time in. Resumed in a maiden at this track/distance where she showed brilliant sustained speed from the front and though got the staggers late, she was too good. Draws wide, but has early speed and will look the winner for a long way.

1 Cuballing (Bet Now: $2.50) is a Todd Harvey trained gelding that resumes. Won the opening two starts of his career back in the Spring of last year. Had two runs in the Autumn and was beaten both times but the depth each time was very strong with six winners and five winners to come out of the respective races. Liked his recent Lark Hill trial and finds a very winnable race to resume in.

7 Alien From Mars (Bet Now: $21.00) is a handy mare that rises in depth but hard to ignore the way she put them away to win second up here, sitting back off a fast speed before angling into clear air and finishing over the top for a dominant win. If she can reproduce that effort here, she is a winning threat.

Going to go each way with 8 Lorentinio (Bet Now: $9.50). Jim Taylor trained gelding that ran over this track/distance two weeks ago where he went quite keen in front at a good clip. Gave a reasonable kick but just felt the pinch late. He should hold up and lead from the gate and give a great sight.

6 Son Of A God (Bet Now: $2.00) is a talented four year old for Simon Miller that steps up to 1400m after resuming over 1200m here two weeks back. Had a good sit just off the speed and had to knuckle down to wear down the leader. Fitter and up to 1400m, he’s quite likeable despite a tricky gate.

2 Abdicator (Bet Now: $16.00) is a Universal Ruler gelding that resumes and his best is capable of running well against these. Hasn’t raced since the Belmont Winter Carnival in the Bolton Sprint when down the track and somewhat outclassed. Liked his recent trial and can run a positive race fresh.

1600m back to 1400m is far from ideal for 8 Solaia (Bet Now: $3.90), but she does look the most progressive of this lot and looks to map ideally. The win over the mile came three weeks ago when on speed controlling things and in a sprint home, she was impressive. Should prove hard to beat.

9 Sassy Trader (Bet Now: $4.50) is a little query at 1400m but the last start suggests he will be okay at it. That last start run came at 1200m where he was back off the speed and held up for a couple of strides before getting clear late and working home strongly. If he can settle that bit closer in the run, he will be dangerous.

3 Agent Jay (Bet Now: $12.00) is a Stephen Miller trained gelding that has returned in very good order. Ran two weeks back here when near the speed and was there to be run down, but he showed good ticker late to fend them off. Harder here, but have to like the way he is going about it.

Tricky race this but do feel the most reliable of this lot is 6 No Surrender (Bet Now: $4.40). Attempted to lead throughout at this track/distance two weeks ago when attempting to lead throughout and he gave a really good kick. Just couldn’t quite finish it off. Has gate one, so should get run of the race and prove hard to get past.

5 Firesale (Bet Now: $12.00) is on the seven day back up after racing here last Saturday. He got back off the speed and worked to the line strongly when a game third to Ration Aly. Has raced well when racing within two weeks previously and overall, this race is very winnable.

13 See Ya Champ (Bet Now: $19.00) is a real knockout hope here. Was a month between runs and coming back to 1400m from the mile at Bunbury and worked home strongly, looking like a mare that would want further, which is what she gets here. Draws soft, think she’s a winning hope for sure.

4 Dew West (Bet Now: $5.50) looks one of the hardest to beat. Jason Pateman trained mare that is three weeks between runs since contesting the Black Diamond where she was in a peach spot just off the speed and presented to win at the top of the straight. Just lacked the class to finish it off. Pike on from a soft draw, she’ll do me.

1 Excellent Dream (Bet Now: $5.50) is a talented animal for Lindsey Smith that resumed here three weeks back. Sat near the speed and tried hard to finish it off, but had to settle for a second to the in form Leica Jaguar. Good second up record, fitter, think he’s one of the hardest to beat.

11 Mickey Blue Eyes (Bet Now: $17.00) is a fascinating runner. Former Hayes/Dabernig runner that now finds himself with Team Gangemi. His form really tapered odd last prep but thought his recent trial was very encouraging so keen to see how he goes fresh. Market will be the guide.
