Group l racing returned to Rosehill on Saturday where we saw a crack bunch of fillies and mares do battle in the Coolmore Classic (1500m) along with the big guns doing their thing in the final Slipper lead ups. Here are the blackbookers.
Race One: Catanach’s Handicap (82) 1900m:
All Too Soon is probably not quite to the level of Luvaluva, Aloisia and co, but she looks a definite stayer and this run confirmed it. Really had no hope the way the race was run but still did a great job to get as close as she did, clocking sub 34 for the final 600m, clearly the fastest of the race.
It’s been a while in between drinks for Multifacets, but the @cwallerracing-trained gelding breaks that drought with a strong performance in the opener at @rosehillgardens. pic.twitter.com/bRiqHIUHri

Race Two: Harrolds Sky High Stakes 2000m:
I think there are a couple here from this that could be followed. Salsamor did a really good job against the older horses, clocking the second fastest final 600m of the race behind Auvray. He will eat up further. The other was the old boy, Who Shot Thebarman. He was on the worst part of the track but hit the line and ran through it with purpose. That’s two good runs back from him now.
It looked a tight contest between Stampede & Libran, but Auvray runs his own race down the outside to deny them in the Sky High Stakes with a speedy final furlong. @SchofieldGlyn finds a running double to kick off the card at @rosehillgardens! pic.twitter.com/t1WfLVZSg7

Race Six: Chandon S Pharlap Stakes 1500m:
I’ll include Unforgotten but not as beaming as some. To the eye, outstanding win. Got back, peeled out and rattled home to win in sub 34. But she was put to sleep out the back so she had every right to finish off like she did. What did she beat? To my eye, not much. Impressive, but I’m very wary of this form.
😲😲😲
Unforgotten submits an inch-perfect dive to deny Holy Snow right where it counts. The @cwallerracing-trained filly comes back to the races with a spectacular showing in the Phar Lap Stakes!! pic.twitter.com/4DN1Xklc6T

Race Seven: Coolmore Classic 1500m:
I still think Nettoyer will be the one for the Epona, but I’ll be quite terrified if Aide Memoire backs up. She ran an enormous race in the Coolmore. Got fired up in the mounting yard and definitely spent petrol tickets there. Looked to travel well in the run and in the straight cut back to the rail, which wasn’t the place to be. Still ran good late splits. If she was to back up next week, she’d take some beating.
DAYSEE DOOM!!
The Ron Quinton-trained mare wins the Coolmore Classic in style, making it back to back wins this prep. An amazing watch as she leads a wall of runners all the way to the line. Champion!! pic.twitter.com/mtIxHlCKeu

Horses To Forget:
Zourkhan- Milk drinker who looked the winner but didn’t finish off
Stampede- Was his D-Day and ha failed to my eye after a soft lead
Nieta- She doesn’t like working for a win. Things have to fall into place
(Forgive) Prized Icon- 1600 back to 1500 never an ideal set up with the weight. Back up in trip, he can run well again
